Wow, so it’s a new year and it feels really good to be back at writing and adding to this special little writer’s community on the web. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year with hopeful anticipation about what God is going to do in your life.
Today I really want to talk about the dream of publishing a book. I know there are so many of you out there who desire to write and publish a book because so many people email me, or make comments on social media or my blog, or even tell me in person that they want to publish a book. Most of the time this is because they see that I have published a book or two (more like 14) and seeing that really sparks something in their spirit because it is a dream of theirs, too.
My personal opinion is that the world most definitely needs more writers. Everyone has a unique story to share and I truly believe that someone needs to hear your story. My heart has always been to help out as many writers as possible in order to help them fulfill their call by God to write. That’s one reason why I started #WriterWednesday because to be honest there is not enough time in the day to help each writer individually. SO I love sharing what I know here on #WriterWednesday but I also know that sometimes we just need a little more when it comes to finding the support, encouragement, and coaching during this writing journey.
That leads me to why I am wanting to feature United House Publishing today. I have had the honor to see this publishing company sprout from a tiny seed, and I will say the team over at United House Publishing are truly a fabulous group of people. If you are wanting to start a blog or publish a book in 2018 then I highly recommend checking out United House Publishing.
Below is an interview I did with Amber who is the founder of United House Publishing – please feel free to leave your questions for Amber in the comments and be sure to check out the services offered by United House Publishing.
Interview with United House Publishing Founder – Amber Olafsson
Who or what is United House Publishing and what is the heart and purpose behind your company? UNITED HOUSE Publishing is a Christian, membership based, publishing company. We partner with bloggers and writers to help them discover their unique message and get their life-giving stories and encouragement to those who need to hear it.
What inspired you to create UNITED HOUSE Publishing? After I released my first book, I thought, SURELY there can be an easier and more helpful way to do this. So, I began dreaming with God about a new kind of publishing company—one that recognizes the humble and values the “unknown.” We believe the world doesn’t need to “know” a writer for their story to be told. God “knows” them, and together (doing it His way) their stories will be told. UNITED HOUSE is a company that gives writers everything I didn’t have: spiritual encouragement, writing guidance, support, and direction, and more than anything: make the process fun for the writer.
How did you come up with your culture points? We believe you must be intentional in creating culture. All of our Culture Points are based on scripture. Having stated values helps us develop a unified sense of culture. By being upfront about the kind of people we are and the type of books we release, we keep our vision clear and define who we are at UNITED HOUSE Publishing.
What do you feel is the most important advice you received when starting a blog? “Just write.” At first, I didn’t know what I was doing, but I was bursting at the seams and had to get my words out. The more you write, the better you become at it.
What do you feel is the most important advice you received when writing a book? I once read in a magazine, “Write a paragraph a day, and little by little, you’ll complete your book.” Writing an entire book seems like an impossible task, especially when it is your “side job.” When I released my first book I had LITTLE kids, was a full time stay-at-home-mom, and lead our small group ministry at church. I was BUSY. But, I wrote my book one paragraph at a time and you can too.
What are some of the services you offer? We have several membership plans to fit the needs of writers at various stages of their journey. If you are new to blogging or just starting the process of writing your book, our rooted membership is a great place to get you going. If you are a bit more established, meaning you already have an online presence, and are ready to begin writing and releasing your first book, then our cultivated or elevated plans are for you.
Every plan includes: A weekly newsletter with Spiritual encouragement,
UNITED HOUSE Publishing also offers: support, coaching calls, Publishing services: editing, formatting, cover design, assisted book launch, Publishing eBook and or Hardcopy, fun Incentives, and an exclusive author community.

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
