Today I was reminded of the limits that I put on God. Sometimes I get to the point in life where I feel like I’m at the end of the road of God’s grace, His blessings, and His provision. Just the other day I was doubting, and thinking, there was nothing new I could do, or new ways God could provide in the area of me going to school, our personal income, and even in my writing.
Just yesterday, I was at “the end of my rope” and I reached my emotional threshold on managing what was on my plate. I could hear the Holy Spirit whisper to me to “just focus on today and get through the day”, so that’s what I did. I did my best and I believe I failed in some ways, but found success in other ways.
My prayer yesterday was for help from anyone; especially from God. It was a humbling experience because the truth is we all need help in some way or another. Once I prayed that prayer, asking God for help in my life, help came to the rescue in some of the most unexpected ways.
When you are a writer you can get really upset, and even feel a bit rejected, when certain doors do not open. In my personal life as a writer, the support from my family and friends is extremely important to me. However, it doesn’t often work out that way, and sometimes we need to endure past the closed doors and have faith to knock on the next door. But most importantly, we need to believe in our self even when the ones that matter most to us aren’t supporting us.
It’s not easy, and sometimes we allow these closed doors and unsupportive family and friends to set our limits on where we go with our writing, or what we believe God can do with our obedience to Him. I was reminded of that today, when I received an email for another open door just one day after I was crying out to God for some help.
God is good. We are the ones who set limits with our specific requests and with our expectations of how we anticipate we will reach our goals. Faith is about obedience and stepping out; sometimes we find God in the most unlikely places. Tonight as I go to bed I will pray for God’s help again tomorrow because I need His help; Lord knows I can’t do all of this on my own.
Do you pray regularly? Have you ever simply asked God to help you with your writing and in helping you to expand your reach so your message can be heard by more people?

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
