You know what’s frustrating? When you are on track to reach a goal and then all of a sudden there is a bump in the road that slows you down. As I was working on my re-branding of this website I met a bump in the road called an illness. It’s that time of year, I am pretty sure the illness was either a cold or sinus/allergy related. Whatever it was, it stopped me in my tracks as I was headed towards finishing up this re-branding project. I was hoping to have new covers in all formats for my books, and definitely have this entire website updated and ready to go; however, after a week of putting in over 20 hours of work on my books, and this website, I got sick.
One thing I learned from this illness is that sitting on my computer for that long in a week is actually not a good thing for me. I think that’s one reason why I got sick, I wasn’t moving and I was mostly just working. I didn’t focus at all on my home, or even my school work, I just wanted to get things done. But after getting sick, and hitting this proverbial speed bump in the road to completing this project, I had to ask myself, “What’s the rush and why does it have to be done now?”
It made me think a lot about my mindset when it comes to blogging. When I ventured into this blogging world almost 13 years ago I had big dreams, and so much has changed over the years. One big lesson I’ve learned is to only spend time on things in this life that matter, and that I enjoy. I love blogging, but I need to realize that it is not wise to sit in front of my computer many hours a week in the name of blogging.
The bumps in the road always seem to slow me down, and maybe that’s a good thing. Or maybe it’s a redirection to put my focus and attention somewhere else. Either way, blogging is a very important part of my life, but it’s not what I live for and I need to make sure I keep all of this in perspective. I need to trust in the timing of it all, and I think the slowing down is helping me to realize that blogging is fun and hopefully it will be something that is with me throughout the many years to come (Lord willing!)
I am definitely looking forward to my regularly scheduled blogging break in December. I usually take two blogging breaks a year, one in July and the other in December. SO with that, the next few weeks here on Writer Wednesday will be the last posts on this blog for 2017! Can you believe the year is almost over? I will also be closing up the guest post form until the new year, too. But November isn’t over yet, and I have a few fun things planned for the next few weeks!

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
