So, for the past month or two I have been wanting to make some brand new changes with Becoming Press. I have also been wanting to update my book covers, and just create a more streamlined process when it comes to publishing books and blogs.
Sometimes in the writer’s life it’s time to rebrand and come up with something BRAND new. I love new blog designs, new books covers, and finishing up projects that have been needing my attention for quite some time now, but sometimes the process is so difficult and costs a lot of time and sleepless nights. I have learned over the years to ask for help when you can, so I will most definitely be bringing on some help with this process.
My hope is to have a BRAND new look for this website by 2018.
I guess there are so many reasons to freshen a blog up a bit, maybe for me it’s more about I need to see a change here because it’s just been too long since there has been a big change.
I have put this update on the back burner long enough, not to mention the projects I need to finish has been on a mile long to-do list since January 1st – and that’s only because I finally decided to make a list because the tasks have been haunting my mind for so long! Finally, this month I reached out for some help and I am actually feeling inspired to move forward with this rebranding project. Sometimes that’s what the writer’s life is all about!
Here is a glimpse of what this rebranding looks like behind the scenes:
- BRAND new BRAND: I am so not a fan of using the words brand or rebranding when it comes to my writing and publishing ministry, but it’s kind of where I am at right now. I am fully involved with creating a new identity for my publishing ministry. There is brainstorming going on, research, and getting help with this process. The name BECOMING PRESS isn’t going anywhere – this website will stay right where it is along with the #writerwednesday link up. I am just working on changing things like the look and feel of the blog, along with updating the look of the book covers and even updating the message within my Bible Studies, too!
- BRAND new blog design: The design I plan on adding to Becoming Press in 2018 is the Refined Theme by Restored 316. I have been wanting to update the design of Becoming Press for years, and I really fell in love with the Refined Theme when it was launched, so I am really excited to get that added to this website. But of course that takes time and includes finding the the right stock photos in order to create the brand that I am looking for when it comes to launching a new design for Becoming Press. It is currently a work in progress.
- BRAND new book covers: Can you believe I published my first eBook back in July of 2011?! Some of my book covers are really outdated. I have updated a few of them because I’ve had to, or because I’ve wanted to, but I think I really want to do a complete overhaul and freshen everything up so that it matches my brand new blog.
- BRAND new projects: So many ideas and so little time to implement them, that has been the life I have been living for many, many years. But now is the time to just get all of the projects done!
I hope you will join me as I write more about this process. Over the next few weeks I will discuss more about rebranding and what exactly that looks like during our #writerwednesday link up!
Sneak Peak at Some of the New Book Covers
I wanted to give you a little sneak peak into the book covers I am creating. One of my favorite Bible Studies to write was one based off of 1 Corinthians 13:13 which says:
But now faith, hope, and love remain–these three. The greatest of these is love.
I wrote a Bible Study on Faith, Hope, and Love – all at different times even though they are now considered a “trilogy.” So I wanted to design books covers that make them stand out as individual Bible Studies but also create a design that connects them because they are all based off the same scripture. Here is a glimpse at the new book covers for Faith, Hope, and Love Four Week Mini Bible Studies which will officially be launching between now and January 2018 – please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions on the new book covers in the comments below, too:
Have you ever thought about your blog’s brand or identity? Does this topic overwhelm you like it overwhelms me? What would you like for me to share as I work through this process of making all things on my publishing website BRAND new?

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
