I guess I shouldn’t have made posting the #writerwednesday post on time every week my New Year’s resolution – at least I made it a whole week this time! But I really did have a good excuse, my son’s birthday was yesterday and the day before that my internship started, so life I spent most of my day yesterday trying to make sure my son had a very special birthday. He is the type of person who is easily pleased and he is very laid back so I think he had a lot of fun and was very pleased – at least I hope so!
Today, I really just wanted to share with you all something I am putting together for the guest writers here on Becoming Press. I know a lot of you have submitted articles in the past and I am so grateful for your contribution. I know that everyone who reads this blog has been blessed by those articles, too. Although Becoming Press is not your traditional publishing house, I do LOVE giving writers the opportunity to share their heart, their words, and their writing here on the Becoming Press blog.
As you know, one of the main goals of Becoming Press is to write and distribute Bible Studies. It is a passion of mine to share God’s Word in a loving and practical way. I do this by simply sharing the lessons that God has taught me on this journey called life. I’ve spent countless hours reading and studying my Bible, but I will say that I will never know the depth of God’s Word this side of heaven, there is truly so much more to discover about God and His Word. But I do love sharing what God shares with me, and I love learning about what God shares with YOU, too! We’re all in this together and I love that we are peers helping each other journey along this path.
So, today I wanted to share with you my new vision for the guest writer’s club here on Becoming Press. Before our guest writer page was set up to where you could directly submit your article to the blog. I would then review it, format it, and publish it. However, I really want to build a community for you all through the writer’s club, and I love the idea of having monthly writing contest where you can earn “cash money” and prizes!
Here is how the Becoming Press writer’s club and writing contests will work:
- First you need to join the writer’s club newsletter here. This will ensure you receive ALL of the updates on what our writing contests will be for that month. (I am thinking about starting a Facebook group – but that will be optional. If you want the “411” on the Becoming Press Writer’s Club and Writing contest then you definitely want to subscribe to our newsletter.)
- We will have monthly writing contests and it will be designed around a theme every month. The themes will include devotionals, scripture studies, etc. Your goal as a writer will be to submit an article to the Becoming Press blog that fits within the theme for that month. Every article submitted around that theme for the month will give you an entry towards winning the prize for that month. The more articles you submit around that theme the more entries you will receive for that month.
- We will have a prize to giveaway to one lucky writer every month. Becoming press isn’t officially a non-profit organization but it is managed like one, and in keeping that in mind please know we do not have the funds to pay every one of our writers, although we truly wish we could. So writing for Becoming Press is a volunteer opportunity, and it may not amount to being paid except for in a feeling of accomplishment and you get to share your blog/books with our readers. However, with the new Becoming Press writer’s club we can now offer cash and prizes in the form of contests and giveaways! This is the part that I am truly excited about – and I hope you re, too! (If you are a someone who would like to sponsor a writing contest prize then PLEASE contact me – I really want to bless our guest writers even if it is just one writer per month!)
I can’t wait to see who joins the new Becoming Press writer’s club! I do hope you will pray about it and if you have any other suggestions or ideas on how we can make this new guest writer program a good one then please feel free to contact me here – I would love to hear your thoughts!

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
