Coming up with new blog post ideas can be very overwhelming and it can definitely cause us to sometimes suffer a serious case of writer’s block, too! Typically coming uup with new blog posts for me involves writing something that has been pressing on my heart, and this works because I mostly write devotional blog posts on my blog. But there are still a few other ways I like to come up with new blog posts and to ge the “juices flowing”, they are:
- Research what is on my heart, mind, or something I am personally struggling with or wanting to learn more about. Often I will turn to google to approach these issues and then write about how that research has affected me, whether I agree or disagree, or how it relates to my personal life or faith. We can share what we learn about these topics and still have it be relevant and authentic when we approach it from our viewpoint and our feelings on the subject matter.
- Share what I already know and I am in the process of learning. I blog a lot about the season that I am currently in. If I am writing a book then I will share my thoughts about the book, the writing process, or the progress of the book. Right now I am also going to college so a lot of times I will write about my experiences there, and even share helpful thoughts that I am learning through my lessons at college. Last year I started bullet journaling and decided to share a blog post about that, too.
- Write what interests you. I am strong believer that your blog should reflect who you are and should be something you look forward to doing. I also love writing reviews and doing giveaway, but only for products that personally use and enjoy. I used to have a blog that was full of content, reviews, and giveaways of things that I sometimes didn’t enjoy writing about. But now I focus on blogging about what I love and what I am learning and it’s totally worth it to me!
All in all write what you want to write the right readers will come to your blog; just keep it relevant to your blog. Also, don’t be afraid to have a blog that touches on different areas of life. Recently I have been contemplating adding recipes to my blog, it’s a new idea but I still think it would be relevant. I also like home decorating and plan to post more of those kinds of posts on my personal blog, too. Lastly, once I pick a topic and I write about it, THAT’s when I actually start researching keywords and hopefully come up with a title that will help me rank within the search engines while also being relevant to my blog post.
I would love to hear your process on how you come up with new blog post ideas; please feel free to post them in the comments! Also, remember to showcase your blog in our linkup below.

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
