When we fear the Lord we are simply obeying the Lord’s commands, and living a life that honors God.
We seek His will in all we do, and obey His direction. We listen to what God has to say even if that means going against what the world says is right.
Often when we fear the Lord we find our self feeling as if we will never get ahead, or the person who isn’t doing God’s will is better off than us. This simply isn’t true. When my thoughts get to this point I like to look to God and remind myself of the promises He has made to those who fear Him.
A life as Jesus as our ruler is a life of purpose and meaning.
When we learn to walk in the will of God we will learn to see the blessings God has given us and be more grateful. Fearing the Lord brings protection, contentment, and confidence.
There are several scriptures within the Bible that talks about fearing the Lord. In this scripture journal we will focus on God’s promise to those who fear Him, and who love Him. Once you have completed this scripture journal you will have more confidence in God’s will for your life, and have a stronger conviction of the Lord’s word.
This scripture journal is set up where you will study one snippet of scripture per week.
There will be seven different activities you will complete in order to help you memorize the scripture and get into the word, one activity per day of the week. At the end of the beginning of the next week we will move onto another scripture. At the end of each week there will also be 3 suggested discussion questions designed to promote use of the “My Scripture Journal” in a group Bible Study setting.
This scripture journal includes 12 scriptures about fearing the Lord. Fearing the Lord can be very difficult at times and does require sacrifice. With this fearing the Lord can be discouraging at times. However God has made several promises within His word telling us what He will do for us if we fear Him. When times get tough when we are doing the “right thing”, we can look to scripture to remind us of God’s wonderful promises.[/two_third]
