There is an old question that bounces through nearly everyone’s mind from time to time. Some when they are old and weary, some when they are still youthful and full of vision.
If you could be anywhere you want, right now, where would you choose?
Here’s my confession: I’m a lifelong daydreamer. So naturally I’ve answered that very question hundreds of times with just as many different answers. I never thought of myself as wishy-washy, but when it comes to that fateful question we can all admit that it’s hard to settle on the perfect answer.
But my God.
My faithful God.
He knew my wandering heart wanted that question settled.
With the words of His mouth, His Living Words, He whispered the answer. And now I know. I know exactly where I want to be. I want to be in Psalm 28:9. That’s where I want to make camp.
It’s my dream destination.
Saved and blessed and guided and held in my Savior’s arms. He is the Dear One that I can trust forever. How could I not want to be in that exact spot?
“Save Your people, bless Your inheritance; be their Shepherd and carry them forever.” Psalm 28:9
Such a simple verse. You almost have to read it in a calm, confident whisper. But as soon as you do, you can answer the question too.
Where do I want to be most of all?
- I want to be saved forever.
- I want to be blessed by God.
- I want to be shepherded by the One who loves me.
- I want to be carried towards Heaven.
The truth is, there are many questions in this life that aren’t quite so clear. But thankfully this one – and many others are answered with hope, joy, and confidence if you dare to look deeply – in the Word of God.
Suddenly grateful for that warm, comforting feeling of the Holy Spirit speaking into your heart? Take a moment to thank God for this precious promise, for the wonderful word picture He breathed into Psalm 28:9 – and tell your God that you know exactly where you want to be.
About the Author: Shirley Robinson
Shirley is wildly dedicated to her husband of nearly a decade and their two mini-me’s, but in moments of peace she craves the guidance of the Holy Spirit and vegetable gardening. Not surprisingly those two things merge frequently for the Robinson family. Writing, especially to the glory of God, is the undercurrent of her life, always there and always meant to be an act of praise and worship towards Heaven.
In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: “I really enjoyed this mini study. I like when things make you think and journal and you can focus on one aspect at a time. It was a great study.”
