“A man of too many friends comes to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
I think for women friendship can be a very emotional, and bumpy road.
Often growing up, “girls” are known for their manipulative behavior, bullying, and just mainly bringing each other down. I know for me friendship has always been, and still is, a sensitive topic.
I often wonder if as women we put too much emphasis on our friendships. Often I find we can easily place our friendships before our family, and even God.
Maybe we can also put too many expectations on our friends, forgetting that they are also human and prone to sinful behavior, which I think can tear up even the best of friends.
Friendships can be shrouded in lies, hurt, anger, and deceit. And yet, friendships can also be a great place to share your thoughts, feelings, and find a comforting place to share and be transparent.
I know for me personally, for many years, I have struggled with loneliness simply because of my lack of friendships. Sometimes I could have many friends and still feel the loneliness. Now I realize the loneliness came from placing friendships above my relationship with God. I love the scripture at the beginning of this post. Yes, friendships, mentors, and coaches are all wonderful to have. However God truly needs to be the center of our life.

In this four week mini Bible Study you will examine your faith and what it means to have faith in God. When we believe in God we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is.
